Mexico Mission Trips Annual Christmas Ministry Trip * December 15, 2007

\

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Over the past six years, we have used volunteers and have also partnered with several other churches to build a church facility in the Reforma area of Tijuana. It has been a joy to build something from the ground up and to encourage the congregation there. They have a tremendous task in reaching a very poor neighborhood with the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ. We are blessed as we serve, and they are blessed as we build together! What a testament to the missionary spirit of cooperation! Here are some photos of the most recent trip to bring food and water to the little hospital clinic, as well as cook a meal with meat (which is a rare treat for the patients there). The movie about the life of Jesus (in Spanish) was shown. In addition to singing and message, the Lord's Supper was observed. A wonderful day, indeed. PASTOR ROY'S NEWSLETTER
Many thanks to those who have played a part in donating and contributing of their time, talents and funds to the Agape Ministry of Mexico. To mention a few: Uplifting Church, Solid Rock Church, Coronado Stone, and many other individuals. The church is completed enough that worship and ministry are happening. The church is growing, and they are reaching out to a neighborhood which desperately needs Jesus. Pastor Francisco and some of his people are going into the neighborhood to evangelize and invite people to their fellowship. The needs for this church are:
• Monthly support to help their congregation pay for the mortgage and utilities. • Food such as deans and rice for the poor in that neighborhood. • Materials to build the pastor and his family a home on the property. • Electrical wire, wood, cement, paint to finish the church. • People who feel led to help on our monthly one day trips. • Your prayers that the needs are met and that many are saved into God’s Kingdom.
As you know our ministry goes beyond the Agape Church in Mexico. In February we visited a hospital in the hills of Tijuana called “The Camp of the Faith.” We are only one of two churches they say that come to visit. There are currently about ten patients being cared for by a single woman. Her needs there are:
• Beans, rice, sugar and any canned goods • Toiletries • Sweat pants and sweat shirts • Medical supplies
She has to buy water and bring it up to the hospital so she is believing God for a well to be drilled there on the property. We had the privilege of praying with them and a salvation of one person on this last trip made it a tremendous joy. We also saw an old friend on this trip we haven’t seen for a while. She is eighty-three years old and can barely walk. People call her Tia, which means Aunt in Spanish. Her ministry is called “The House of the Brothers,” and her home houses several people and she gets regular visits from seventeen (yes, 17) men’s homes. They come to pick up food, clothes and God’s Word. She has discipled two men in her center to minister and give the Good News of the Kingdom to her visitors and to the poor in her neighborhood. She asks us to help with beans, rice, sugar and oatmeal. She does not have enough to give to all who come.
As you can see God has given us a handful. He commands us to feed the poor and preach the Gospel. You can help. How? By your prayers, by your donations of food, funds and materials. You are invited to join us on our next one-day trip to Mexico. Thank you for your time.
God bless you, Pastor Roy Flint Here are some photos of the progression of the work on the worship center in the years past.
