Africa Mission Project

Last year, we were in the planning stages for a mission trip to Senegal, West Africa. Burt and Suzanne Schmitz are missionaries who moved there to begin a new work to bring the Gospel message and plant churches. They are asking for churches to come and help them in this great cause for the sake of the Kingdom.

Where in the world is Senegal?
Senegal is in West Africa and its western edge borders on the Atlantic Ocean.
The capital city, Dakar, is the westernmost point of Africa.
The population of Senegal is approximately 12 million people.
Senegal is about 76,000 square miles, roughly the size of South Dakota.
The official language is French.
The annual per capita income is $ 1,759.
The religions of Senegal are Islam (95%), Christianity (4%) and Animism (1%).

PRAYER TEAM
Be a faithful prayer warrior, and pray daily for the Jola people to be receptive to the message of hope through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Every venture of faith must be bathed in prayer. Pray during the initial stages, pray as the planning progresses, pray when the effort seems impossible, pray for miracles to abound. Pray!
SUPPORT TEAM
Be an enthusiastic supporter in this mission endeavor. Do whatever you can to assist in raising finances for the volunteers. Not everyone will be able to go. Therefore, many are needed to give of their own funds. Some will be able to raise funds through activities and personal contact. You can be an mighty part of this effort by sending others. Be a part of this excited and motivated team.

Go with us. Serve on the team that will volunteer to invade Senegal for Jesus in the future. God calls and tugs at the heart of many to fight the good fight of faith in a land far away.
